holograms

I am still in love with all things glittery, holographic, and iridescent these days. Though up until recently I hadn't had much luck finding anything that fit into that category to add to my wardrobe (online or off!), so you can imagine how happy I was when I finally found myself a pair of these...
Holographic shoes! I'm not really a flats kinda gal, but I couldn't resist these when I saw'em on the f21 site in all their prismatic glory. They were super cheap, too! I haven't been able to wear them out due to it being much too cold & snowy for anything other than Docs lately, but I have been wearing them around the house trying to break them in a bit. Don't they look ace with these transparent stripey socks?

And because I'm still craving holographic glittery-ness in the form of clothing, I made a collage of what my ultimate ~dream wardrobe~ would consist of if it were made up of sparkly stuff only:

  3. I love everything here. I love sparkle and glitter and holographic too. Wish I had a holographic item, there just aren't enough of them around I find.

  12. Hi Marlena! I have a question. How do you keep from tearing/running your tights? I absolutely adore cute tights but I can never bring myself to spend $15+ for them online because I know that sooner or later I'll tear them. Even if I get my hands on a bottle of clear nail polish (which supposedly stops the tear from spreading) there will still be that hole. Am I just unlucky or is there a knack to this? -Hero

    1. I think the trick is to just be careful with them! Starting with the way you wash them. I noticed that when I started hand washing & hang drying my tights they lasted eons longer than when I threw them in the wash (even on gentle cycle!) And if they're really ~fancy~ (meaning I spent more than $5 on them) I just take extra care when I put'em on. I usually just roll the leg down from the waistband to the foot (if that makes any sense?) and pull them on carefully.

      I tend to see a lot of tights online that are pricey, but aren't necessarily worth the price, if you know what I mean? I would definitely do my research/look around and see if maybe they're being sold for a more reasonable price elsewhere. And I don't think investing in some clear nail polish would hurt, just in case! :)
